Exos 38 by Osprey
Exos 38 represent the latest in a significant heritage of ventilated and lightweight backpacking packs. Combining optimum comfort and stability with durable, super light materials, Exos 38 is the ideal pack for moving fast on multi-day adventures like the Camino to Santiago de Compostela.
Let us tell you what the main reason is this new pack caught our attention: as a pilgrim on the Camino to Santiago, you often walk ‘alone’. Most of us have a standard water bottle instead of a hydration bladder (due to hygienic reasons). One of the problems we encounter is reaching to our water bottle. The usual place to stow your water bottle is in the side pocket, which for most of us is not reachable without taking our backpack off. Another solution is to ask someone to grab your bottle so you can take a quick sip. Osprey just revolutionized this: the mesh side pockets of the Exos 38 backpack have two points of access. The regular one from the top and a new one on the side within hand’s reach. Great thinking Osprey!
The Exos 38 offers all the benefits of a lightweight pack but without the normal compromises, helping you to move fast and light. The revolutionary ExoForm™ harness and hip belt uses a dual mesh construction to deliver a comfortable and stable fit that puts a traditional harness design to shame. The ventilated AirSpeed™ back panel will keep you cool when the weather turns hot, but still delivers a stable load-carrying platform.
If you want to really hit minimal weight, remove the lid to expose the integrated FlapJacket™, which provides additional protection to the top of the pack. Keeping your contents tight and under control is even easier with the adjustable multi-point compression system on each pack sides.
Every element of the Exos 38 has been labored over to keep weight low, yet retain the best performance possible.
All these features might led you to think that it’s a heavy pack. Think again: just over 1 kg!! Osprey suggests on their website they should probably be accused of witchcraft. We totally agreed: this is out of this world!
