Don’t forget to check the climate conditions in the applicable different parts of Spain for the season / month you are travelling in. It can be very rainy in Northern Spain. In the months of June through September it usually does not rain a lot. In the other months though, the right rain jacket is a must. Breathable and Lightweight are the key words here!

  1. Dear CaminoComfort team, hello. Please we are planning to go in April 10-15th the last way from Sarria. Could you please suggest about rain and road conditions. Should we take Goretex shoes or common trail runners will be ok? In some articles i see that can be snow in April but not sure that it is relevant for the last part of the camino… :) Thank you very much in advance.

    1. Dear Daria,

I wish I could give you the correct answer. I suggest checking the weather service about 14 days before departure. Only if it looks really good and dry I would go for non-Gortex shoes. Some part of the trail in those last 100Km can get very muddy. Snow in April is not entirely impossible in the Sarria region (nowadays it seems the weather is all over the place) but it is however unlikely.
      Buen Camino!

      1. Oh, thank you very much for this reply&input. It is very kind and so helpful. Most possible muddy trail case is alarming :) and I need to change the order of shoes as currently I booked beautiful light blue Salomon:)) That now I need to return and order something black or dark))) Thank you very much.
