The Route of Padre Sarmiento might not yet be an official Camino but most of the pilgrims who walk here are past their wish of receiving the certificate (La Compostela) and might be looking for something different, something else…
Discover this gorgeous part of Galicia (O Salnés). Enjoy the beautiful coast lines, its delicious culinary adventures and ah… yes, the superbe wines!
The logical place to start is Pontevedra.
The first few kilometers until Combarro you will be following first a sort stretch of the Camino Portugues Central and the Variante Espiritual. You can find those routes on our Camino Portugues page.
For those pilgrims who have done several Camino’s: this route is slightly different when it comes to accommodation: there are hardly any traditional albergues with shared dorms. So it will be a bit more expensive compared to the “10 euros for a bed” experience you might be used to.
Then again, that might be exactly what you are looking for :-). Simple comfort and joy…
